Rishtein part 2

There was something special about Praveena in Abhay’s life, and Abhay always knew it was her presence and charm which has made him let his parents memories go away.

Always cheerful and smiling Praveena wasn’t like these 6 years before, she had come from a high end business family, she had all the luxury, but as it is said no matter how rich or small family it could be, there is pain in each and every house...so it was there in her house as well...

Praveena's Story
Her only brother Ricky( 5 years younger to her) was suffering from an incurable mental dieses due to which his mind wasn’t fully developed.... being his elder sister praveena was always there looking after him, devoting her whole life taking care of him, looking after him, and even Ricky was very comfortable with Praveena other than anyone else in home....
They were soul mate..... And praveena always knew she can spend her whole life looking after her brother, even after getting great looks, she never realised it, and wasn’t like many other girl of her age...mentally she had grown 20 years ahead of her classmate..As she can actually feel the sense of motherhood...and Ricky was her son...
Thinking of her, trying to reach home early so that she can spend time with Ricky, was one reason she never got along with her classmates, and was almost ignored by rest.

It was a day before Praveena’s birthday, when while coming back from college she got the terrible news. Her brother had died in a road accident...he was crossing the road while coming back from a gift shop; he was carrying a beautiful neck locket shaped in “P” and a birthday greeting card. The accident was so strong that he died on spot.

Knowing this Praveena was immediately taken to hospital, as she wasn’t able to control this news and fainted on spot....

But today this praveena is reliving her life, as if nothing had happened...most of her classmate weren’t even able to make it out that she was there classmate.......

Life has changed allot for Praveena.


Back in Siris, present day

Praveena laughing and smiling at Abhay and said “So how many patient you are visiting Doctor???”

“Patient? Doctor? Praveena are you out of your mind” said abhay in confusion.

“ Yes!! Doctor, now that you have been promoted, you must be meeting and celebrating with all your girlfriends right Mr. DOC??”

“Are you insane am not doctor and you know I don’t have any girlfriend”

“Yeah yeah I know Mr. Lonely, I was just kidding, so tell me where are you giving me party? Which disc are going?”

“Praveena you know I don’t like going to disco and neither do I like drinking, but I don’t mind you going for party or doing anything, if you want we can go for movie or dinner”

Praveena as always knew Abhay’s response nodded and said “ My dear Handsome friend, give me chance to make other also feel jealous, was juss hopping how the other girls will react if they see this amazing looking chap with me in disco, I would have enjoyed that moment.” And she started laughing

Abhay “I promise one day you I’ll definitely come with you, but not today”

“You always say some other day and that day never comes, let’s just celebrate Abhay, I understand you don’t drink and I am not asking you to drink also. Will go there and if you don’t like it I promise we will come back,plz plz plz”

“hmmmmmmmmmm”

“Please abhay as a friend I hope at least this much you can do for me? And I am not asking anything more”

“Ok praveena, but one condition you won’t drink much,”

Praveena in full surprise “Oh my god, yes abhay I won’t promise am so happy that finally you are coming”

Happy Praveena went back to her desk, as now she has to plan whole lot of things for the evening,

Even abhay felt better, seeing his friend happy he realised that there is still someone who cares and think about him,

There is something very special about today, Abhay felt it..

First it was the unexpected promotion and then accepting Prvaeena’s offer to join her in disco. And he actually feels good from within...


Praveena sitting in her desk, quietly smiling also felt, there is something very special about today, for the first time Abhay has finally agreed to come out with her in disco,
She can still recollect last year’s 14 February,

Last Year 14th February,

Being a weekday, everyone had to come office, many youngster actually want 14feb to declare as a national holiday so that they can spend their valuable time with their girlfriend or boyfriend, but being in democratic nation doesn’t means that there will be time for some personal space, at least for Valentine days,

As expected there were red roses visible throughout the city, there was romance in the air, radio station were only playing romantic numbers, and Rj’s were only talking about love and ways of proposing to their loved ones.
There were heart shaped balloons hanging in the entire floor of Siris,being in this industry even VJ knew how it feels to work in this romantic day, so he always wanted to make his staff feel the love...

There was romance in everyone’s eye, there were people exchanging gifts, cards and roses of various colours...

But on one side was Abhay calmly sitting in his desk, trying to decode his project, on his next desk was Praveena doing something in her computer, she was continuously typing something,
For a moment Abhay looked at her and called her name, but Praveena was so much into something that she didn’t hear abhay calling her...and even abhay felt she is working on something important so he also didn’t disturbed her again...


Praveena was never seen so much focused and silent ever before, she was happy go lucky girl, but today there was something...she was actually working on a developing a new project of her called “ Love Me”...

“Love Me” yes that was the name of communication project praveena was working on...it is a web based mobile application, designed especially for people in love...
The basis of this application was very simple, at first instant it just looks like a normal sms application, but its nature and dedication was more complex...
With this programm, 2 people who have this application can actually be in contact with each other throughout the day, no matter where they are or what they are doing,

This application of praveena was nothing, until in the morning when in the lift she heard one girl talking to her boyfriend overphone.and she heard a little bit of their conversation, they were actually missing eachother, and unfortunately the guy was in California......

Immediately the idea of “Love Me” striked her...how about having a simple mobile application with which you can be with your loved ones throughout the day....you can see them eating, sitting in office, can hear them talk with their friends, can be a part of their conversation, and the same time do your own office work attend meeting....

Praveena was just making some application code, and suddenly she heard something....

“ Abhay even you know that it was always between us, even I know you feel the same, that day also you meant it,i am ready for it,i always loved you, and I know you love me too” said Preeti.

Preeti a new recruit in Siris,not even 6 months and she started feeling bonding for abhay, Preeti’s great looks, short skirts and tight blouse had definitely made many people in love with her...but not abhay...

Preeti was assigned to assist Abhay in his new project, and that is how she started feeling for Abhay.

But abhay has never thought about it, and that was the reason he was in shock. And so was Praveena, She had always knew Abhay was single and had never intended to have any girlfriend...and praveena always wanted to know the reason,but somehow she took a back and never did...but this was the moment..

“Preeti, you are a wonderful girl, whoever marry you will be the luckiest, but I am very sorry have never felt anything for you.” Said abhay

“You are lying, i know you are lying, why you are doing this, you know I love you alot, is there someone else?” and preeti couldn’t control and started crying.

“I am sorry if by any action or words of me had made of feel that I love you,i do care about you but as a friend...There is no love as if now in my life, for me that would be something unexpected and the most beautiful thing ever could happened”

“Abhay, ohk you don’t love me, but I am sure you will love me one day” said preeti ran to washroom.

Abhay turned and there was Praveena standing just behind him...

Abhay in confusion “What?”

Praveena “Nothing, was just heard you and preeti talking”

Abhay turned his eyes, and was looking somewhere else.

Praveena “as a friend can I ask you something?”

Abhay “Sure”

Praveena putting her one hand on top of other making a criss cross section asked
“What planet do you belong to? can’t you see how much love does preeti have for you, she is so pretty, and care allot for you, then whets the problem?? Why can’t you be a matured normal guy and accept the fact that even you can fall in love??””

Abhay knew Praveena will react in same way, and then he said...

“Praveena, i have seen people falling in love and falling out of love, is that the love you are talking about? If that is love in this world, then I don’t think I can ever be in love”

Praveena with little frustration “ then what is love according to you, you think there will be one angel from nowhere who will come in white horse and will take you to her palace”

“Praveena calm down know you are angry, but I don’t believe in these kind of love, you can only take birth once, live once, die once and love once, I know HE (God) has loads of plans for me, and according to him, love hasn’t come yet...”
Praveena’s anger was getting down “ohk so how will you know if that time has not come yet, what if HE has decided Preeti for you, how will you know that she’s the one?”

“I’ll come to know, and I am 100% sure it wasn’t Preeti,
If that girl will come in front of me, then the whole world will turn black, there won’t be anyone around other than me and hermit would be as if life is paused for rest other than us, She will be waiting for me, and there will be water droplets making sound of holly bells,”


Abhay’s word has taken praveena in a different world, she never knew that Abhay can actually have this big romantic heart...coming back to reality, Praveena said “what if that girl is already engaged? Had a boyfriend or didn’t like you?

“If she’s the one ,then there is no power in the world that can stop her saying that she loves me, and with those words of her’s I know that I can spend my whole life”


Back in Siris, present day

Though Praveena had always been abhay’s best and only friend, she felt that this is the day; she was getting strong feelings that HE has decided the day as today................
